Who we are. The BFOUNT Sales & Marketing Academy (“the Academy”) is operated by BFOUNT LLC, 8051 N. Tamiami Trail STE E6, Sarasota, FL 34243, USA. Contact: partner@bfount.com.
What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you use “Continue with Google”, we receive your name, email address, Google account ID and profile picture from Google. We never receive your Google password.
- Learning profile — the goal, experience level, country and company you choose to give us.
- Learning activity — lessons started and completed, quiz, skill-check and exam answers and scores, projects you submit, certificates issued, and anonymous video events (play, halfway, finished).
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and a session cookie needed to keep you logged in and protect forms from abuse.
How we use it
- To provide the Academy: your account, progress tracking, recommendations, exams and certificates.
- To improve courses — for example, finding lessons where learners get stuck or questions most people answer wrongly. We use this in aggregate.
- To email you about your account (welcome, password reset, project feedback). We only send course news and partner opportunities if you tick the optional box, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
Our legal bases (UK/EU): performance of our agreement with you (providing the Academy), legitimate interests (improving courses and security) and consent (optional marketing emails).
Certificates
Each certificate has a public verification link showing your name, the course, the date and your exam score. Anyone you share the link or certificate ID with can verify it. Ask us if you want a certificate withdrawn.
Community posts
Questions and answers you post in the Community are public: anyone can read them, and search engines may index them. We show only your first name next to your posts (BFOUNT staff appear as “BFOUNT Team”). Your email address is never shown. Don't post personal or confidential information. You can ask us to remove your posts at any time.
Practice Labs and Learn → Earn
Practice Labs run in your browser; if you are signed in we store only your score for each lab, not the text you typed. If you apply through Learn → Earn, we store the details you send (track, country, optional phone and links, message) together with a snapshot of your Academy results (certificates, exam and skill-check scores, lab scores, completed lessons and projects, community answers). Only the BFOUNT team sees applications; we use them to contact you about work opportunities and delete them on request.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Academy (hosting, email delivery) under contracts that protect it, with Google when you choose Google sign-in, or where the law requires.
Cookies
We use one essential session cookie to keep you logged in and protect forms. Checklist ticks are saved in your browser’s local storage. If we enable Google Analytics, it is described here and, where required, only runs with your consent.
How long we keep data
We keep your account and learning history while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; we then delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where we must keep it by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, download or delete your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know, delete and correct, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Email partner@bfount.com. UK and EU residents can also complain to their data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
Children
The Academy is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
International transfers
We are based in the United States. Where we transfer UK or EU personal data to the US, we use appropriate safeguards.
Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the date below. Significant changes will be emailed to account holders.
