25 ChatGPT prompts for marketers (copy, paste, customise)

Good prompts give context, examples and limits. Here are 25 we use every week, grouped by job.

The difference between bland AI copy and copy you can ship is the prompt. Every prompt below follows the same pattern: a role and goal, real context, a precise task, constraints, and — where possible — an example. Replace the [brackets] and paste in your own material.

Research

  1. “Here are [N] reviews of [category]. Group them into pains, outcomes, objections and exact phrases, with counts.”
  2. “Summarise this competitor’s landing page: offer, price, proof, call to action and what is missing.”
  3. “From these themes, propose six ad angles for [audience], each with the emotion, the proof needed and a sample hook.”
  4. “List the questions a [role] asks before buying [product], from first search to signing.”
  5. “Draft a customer persona from these anonymised call notes. Mark anything that is an assumption.”

Ads

  1. “Write 20 hooks under [N] characters for [angle]. Avoid [banned claims]; do not imply personal attributes.”
  2. “Score these hooks 1–10 for clarity, specificity and curiosity, and flag policy risks.”
  3. “Write a 20-second video script: hook, problem, solution, proof, CTA, with on-screen text per beat.”
  4. “Write 15 Google responsive search ad headlines (30 characters) and 4 descriptions (90 characters) for [keyword theme].”
  5. “Rewrite this ad so it describes the offer, not the reader, to meet [platform] policies.”

Landing pages and email

  1. “Draft a landing page for [offer]: headline, subheadline, three benefits, three steps, proof, five FAQs, CTA. Use placeholders instead of inventing numbers.”
  2. “Give me ten headline options using outcome + timeframe + objection removed.”
  3. “Write a five-email welcome sequence for people who downloaded [lead magnet].”
  4. “Write a 90-word cold email to [role] with this trigger: [trigger]. End with an interest-based question and an opt-out line.”
  5. “Turn this feature list into benefits using ‘so that…’.”

SEO and content

  1. “Group these keywords by search intent and suggest one page per group.”
  2. “Write a content brief for [keyword]: reader, angle, outline with H2s, questions to answer, internal links, CTA.”
  3. “Suggest eight FAQs real customers ask about [topic], with short accurate answers I will verify.”
  4. “Turn this article into a LinkedIn post, three short-video ideas and a newsletter intro.”
  5. “Write a title tag under 60 characters and a meta description under 155 for this page.”

Sales and reporting

  1. “Turn these discovery-call notes into a one-page proposal outline.”
  2. “Give me Listen–Acknowledge–Explore–Respond answers to these five objections.”
  3. “Analyse this CSV: which sources have the lowest cost per qualified lead? Show your calculations.”
  4. “Summarise this week versus last week in under 150 words: what happened, why, what next.”
  5. “Act as a sceptical [role] so I can practise handling objections.”

Three rules

  • Paste real material — output is only as specific as the input.
  • Treat every answer as a draft; ask for revisions.
  • Verify facts and numbers, and never paste personal or confidential data into tools your company has not approved.
